Notoriously Morbid Calling Corners Palette Swatches and Review

Hello, everyone!  I'm extremely excited to share swatches of Notoriously Morbid's Calling Corners pressed eyeshadow palette!  This beauty was inspired by The Craft and was actually released in loose eyeshadow form in the first ever Vanishing Cabinet over three years ago!  The palette features the four shades that were released back then as well as a brand new palette-exclusive shade!  The collection also includes an exclusive Mystic Matte and Cosmic Lip Gloss.  The palette is currently up for pre-order on the website until July 7th.  Semi loose versions of the initial four shadows are up for sale on the site as well.  NM's current TAT is 14 business days and the palette is slated to ship starting from the last week of July to the first week of August.

Disclosure:  I am a promoter for Notoriously Morbid and received this palette free for review.  All opinions are honest and my own.

As stated in my disclosure above, the palette was sent to me for testing before the actual pre-order was made available.  There was no issue with the packaging since my palette arrived in pristine condition with no broken eyeshadows.  I did notice a tiny dot of the red shadow (Fire & Feeling) being mixed into some of the other shadows.  It's not a huge issue and has been reported to the owner, Carrie, so I believe it'll be fixed before the pre-ordered palettes begin shipping out.

Mother & Earth
Mother & Earth:  brown with gold sparkles and green shimmers.  It looks a bit patchy over regular non-sticky primer, but it performs completely differently in person.  I've used this on my lower lashline with no sticky primer and it went on extremely pigmented and retained all of its sparkles!

Air & Invention
Air & Invention:  icy blue with gold sheen and red and green shimmers

Fire & Feeling
Fire & Feeling:  beautiful red with slight orange sheen

Water & Intuition
Water & Intuition:  aquamarine with green shimmers.  You can see the dot of Fire & Feeling that I was mentioning before.  I believe it's just a surface error and wasn't actually pressed down into the entire pan.  It doesn't bother me at all because it's small and won't be there on the actual release.

We are the Weirdos
We are the Weirdos:  eggplant with blue green duochrome.  This is the brand new palette exclusive shadow and is gorgeous and mysterious.  I tried to take a good picture that showed off the duochrome.  It's much more apparent in the swatch picture and if you look closely at the product shot, you'll see a slight transition from purple (top) to blue (bottom).

Overall, I was really happy and impressed with the quality of this palette.  As you can see, they work well over regular primer, but I use a sticky base with all my shadows either way.  I did find that synthetic flat eyeshadow brushes didn't pick up product too well and I had to swipe over the eyeshadow a few times to get enough product onto the brush and onto my eyes.  I used a combination of small smudge brush, angled liner brush, crease brush, and blending brush for my eye look and only a flat eyeshadow brush gave me a problem.

I've done a few looks using only the palette and will feature them on my Instagram @infamousjoe.  I absolutely love this palette and how bright and punchy the colors are.  The shades really tie in with the elements they are inspired by.  I strongly recommend pre-ordering this palette if you haven't already.

Notoriously Morbid June 2017 Vanishing Cabinet - Worst. Heroes. Ever. Swatches

Welcome back, everyone!  I'm very excited to share swatches of Notoriously Morbid's June Vanishing Cabinet today!  It was inspired by The Suicide Squad and is the third anniversary for the VC and features more products!  The VC includes four eyeshadows, a mini highlighter, a full sized Mystic Matte, and full sized Night Kiss balm.  NM's current TAT is 14 business days, but the VC ships on a different schedule.

Stay Evil, Dollface on face
Stay Evil, Dollface:  opaque cool, dark red; delicious berry scent.  I absolutely love Notoriously Morbid's red lipsticks and this one is no different.  I fell in love with this as soon as I applied it and the scent is amazing.  Hopefully, NM puts this scent into more products (*cough* lotions *cough*) and I would buy everything.

Overall, this month's VC had some amazingly beautiful products!  It's definitely one of the most gorgeous VCs ever made and I think the owner, Carrie, did a wonderful job making the third anniversary special.  However, let's address the elephant in the room - the leaky jars.  The jars that housed the eyeshadows were extremely leaky resulting in messes and loss of product.  I know Carrie has taken it up with the jar manufacturers and offered replacements for customers that emailed about the issue.

If you're a VC customer and received any leaky jars, I recommend contacting the NM customer service about the issue (please provide photos of the faulty jars as proof).  - July 8th: Editing to add that Notoriously Morbid is replacing JARS ONLY, as the eyeshadows themselves were not faulty at all.-  I personally purchased backup eyeshadows when they went up on the overstock page so I can transfer them over.  The overstock jars are different than the ones sent out for the VC, so I have no doubt they'll be cleaner.  I'm still really excited to use the shadows because they're insanely pretty!

Innocent + Twisted Alchemy Faerie Garden Swatches

Welcome back, everyone, I hope you had a great Independence Day!  I have swatches of Innocent + Twisted Alchemy newest Faerie Garden collection.  The collection features five eyeshadows and one highlighter inspired by fairies.  I'm unsure of I+TA's current TAT as they're only open on Fridays through Sundays to prepare for their impending closure :(  It seems like they'll still be doing monthly subscriptions until their closing, so at least you'll see me posting about them for the next few months!

Innocent + Twisted Alchemy June 2017 Subscription and Eighth Anniversary Swatches

Happy summer, everyone!  I have swatches of Innocent + Twisted Alchemy's June subscription.  The theme for this month is mermaids, which might help cool you down during this intense heat x_x  The mini subscription box is $10/month for US subscribers and includes a full sized product and a deluxe product.  This month, we received a full sized eyeshadow and Lippie Slick (lip gloss).  I+TA's current TAT is 10 - 14 business days, though the subscription ships on a different schedule.  I+TA also celebrated its eighth anniversary recently and released two anniversary shadows, which I scooped up.  Additionally, I purchased a blush that they made for Hello Waffle's Visage monthly subscription box and the owner, Linda, threw in a free deluxe shadow!

Pictures taken under LED bulb and swatched over ELF Glitter Primer (top/left half) and ELF Essential Primer (bottom/right half)

Sirens:  orchid with red, green, and gold shimmers.  This is a really pretty color, unfortunately, the jar was pretty leaky and was a bit of a hassle to clean up.

Bare lips
Derketo on face
Derketo:  sheer mauve gloss with blue sheen and red and gold sparkles.  It has a fruity scent.  It's a pretty color that shows up more blue in person, but my tube was cracked upon arrival so a bit of product will always ooze out no matter what.  I also find that it clings onto dry skin, so I would exfoliate the lips thoroughly before applying Derketo or apply it as a lipstick topper.

Ashleigh:  shimmery light green with red shimmers.  This was a free shadow that was included in my order.  I believe it's one of the custom shadows made for I+TA's promoters.  It's a very unique and interesting color.

Arie .v.
Arie .v.:  shimmery pale pink with green duochrome

Ophelia .v.
Ophelia .v.:  plum with blue sheen and gold sparkles

King's Horses
King's Horses:  medium pink blush with gold, green, red, and blue shimmers; swatched heavily over bare skin
